Spring 2011 - Denim DO or Denim DON'T?

Denim denim denim, what will we do with it when everyone's brain is embedded with 80's bedazzled denim or full on denim outfits from the 90`s that make people cringe and shy away. Well there is light at the end of the tunnel not that anyone would care because they have just avoided it unless it was a pair of jeans...butttttt if you really want to stay trendy this Spring...you will need at least one or 2 of these pieces to add to your collection. Now it seems like a tough thing to do but I'm sure if Mr. Louboutin could sport this trend in his Spring 2011 shoe collection... I`m prettttty sure you could do it too :)
A denim wedge or sandal is a playful way to include this trend in your spring collection - its casual, its flirty and is easily paired with any color of the rainbow, the same way a denim pair of jeans would - good basic to include! This Denim swim suit is really hottt right now - check it out in the Mercedes Benz Swim Suit Guide!
Jeggings (aka extremely stretchy jeans - jean/leggings) are reallllly hot right now - why???? Because they are soooo comfortable and thicker than legging fabric to avoid showing all the beautiful cellulite that us gorgeous women are blessed with....
These are some of the Spring 2011 denim trends that should be scaring you away! Oversized, boring and doubled! Why do these designers think these pcs would sell for their insanely high prices???? They are sooooo unflattering and if I see this on anyone in Manhattan, I swear I will buy a bucket of paint and throw it on them..hideous!!!

3 HOTTEST CANDY COLORS for Spring 2011!!!

Bright, sexy, Ooooo so yummy colors - I can just eat these colors upppp! OH-SO-YUMMY BUBBLE GUM PINK, REFRESHING OCEAN TURQ and ORANGE FRENZY! This Spring, color is SOOOOOO important because you can play with styling and cuts, whether fitted or loose or cute, ruffly, with feathers or even fringe - you're good to go as long as you have them in these CANDY COLORS!

A really strong Trend with these CANDY colors is color blocking - whether its done by pairing a cropped top in lime green and a bubble gum pink fitted skirt as Leona Lewis did on the left or done as the Prada bag right next to it!
Having fun with color is easy! If you don't want to accentuate your body in a full on colored dress as Versace did on the left then you can easily add an accessory like a cute turquoise clutch or a fringed stiletto by Louboutin (or a wedge like the one from Messeca to go for comfort :D)
Orange was always a difficult color for me but I am LOVING the way it is played out here! Feathered stilettos by Mr Dior and a color blocked bag by Marc Jacobs and your a jetsetter for the Spring!

SPRING 2011 is WEDGE CRAZY!!!

I am in LOVE with wedges and have been wearing them whether they were in or out but YAY this spring/summer they are REALLLYYYY hot and they are coming out with these amazing designs!!!
We now have so much choice in shape, size, styling, color and even price!!! I love them!!!! The best part is that they are ULTRA sexy and ULTRA comfy!!! Doesn't get better than that!
Now I know its still early to be thinking spring but guess what - there is NO snow in NYC so as soon as the weather warms up a little you bet I will bring out my WEDGES!!!! And so will the rest of NYC!!! I am sooooo excited!!! See some hot and crazy wedges below...

Wow - every shape and color and they are oh so yummy!!!! Except for the brown moccasin one lol - this is hideous and refers back to my FRINGE trend that went wrong or the SNOWTIRE, MOCCASIN, CONSTRUCTION BOOTY that I hated on! My faves are the Pierre Hardy pink and orange wedges....mmmm I want them soooo bad but they are a weee bit pricey for me :(

You will also notice that color blocking is REALLY hot this spring - but I will do another page on that soon... Love the metallic wedge by RODARTE...and MESSECA has done a great job by keeping it simple with a splash of color... There is a wedge out there for you...just need to find it :

THE THREE F'S - Fringe, Fur and Feathers!

Yes the final F word has been revealed and you cringed a little when you saw it - but before you turn away and reject it - just have a look at the fringes below...They are sexy, gorgeous and make you want to rock them! The accessories, the dresses and gotta love the BANGS! (Maybe because that is my hairstyle haha) I absolutely love Versace's take on fringes, definitely made something known for hideous cowboy propaganda and elvis jackets into a seductive sexy detail on a dress!
Just to remind everybody of how hideous a fringe COULD BE - I've included some images below - hehe....yummy isn't it????
It seems to be easy to do fringe the wrong way - but the designers that were capable of making it WOW should get an applause...I'm so jaded by the ugly fringe that I would have never thought to design something that even involved a fringe...but talent is talent and congrats to them! AND BOOOOOO for those who tried and failed! Better luck next time! If they are still in business....

THE THREE F'S - Fur, Feathers and F?!

O yes I have just revealed my 2nd F word! FURRRRRR!!! (The 3rd one will be revealed tomorrow)
All about furrr, anything furrry whether its a coat, a bag or even a live pooch, FUR is hottttt right now! Literally! And what better way to stay warm in this terrible winter weather? Doesn't matter if you're against real fur, there are many beautiful pieces that are animal friendly like BEBE's Faux Fur Vest!
Fur is luscious and bold and been around for ages yet the trend has never died. This year seems to be a BIG year for fur! Check out this fashion site for Andrea Uku's page on Street Style and all the fur she's been finding! Its definitely a common piece in everybody's wardrobe! The great thing about it, is that there are so many variations of this trend and you can find it in almost any way you fancy it, whether its a HUGE fur coat or a simple trim on a collar.
Fur was commonly associated with wealthy women and men and lets not forget that it was an actual form of currency from the 1500's to 1900's. It wasn't as popular after that but was always considered a precious piece and only the richest of the rich had it...Now everyone can afford it - Darn!
By the way - I had to add in those disgusting Trapper Hats because as much as I hate it - someones loving it! HAHA

CAGE-A-LICIOUS! Throw me in a cage and lock me away!

Please tell me what BIRD CAGES and FASHION have in common!!!! EVERYTHING!!! Check out these fab pieces that are proving that any item can be a hot commodity if the great designers believe in it! From shoes to bags to dresses to pants and even FULL on bird cages! Now lets not get too into this fashion - I really don't want to have to start wearing bird cages just to stick with the hottest trends...how long will this stick? NO CLUE! But they have transitioned some really nice pieces from this thematic. What will I find next...AHHHHH you will just have to wait and see :)
Completely boggled by this one - how does a bird cage make it on the runway of Valentino? Was he on drugs? HAHAHA

Cages in the bedroom - NOW we are talking! Something I can see as more acceptable for those sex freaks! Leave it up to Jean-Paul Gaultier to take care of that!
Maison Martin Margiela....really??? I can just imagine the pinching going on when any wrong movement is made... The bags are more realistic, marketable and NORMAL! Well done Mr Marc Jacobs!

EXTREMELY hot! Nice take on showing the legs but not too much of it - unskanky - GOOD job fellow designers! This is an item I'd definitely want to buy to sexify myself ;)

Chanel is showing the importance of this trend by having it show multiple times in the fall winter collection - Love the booties! and it seems that they are lined with a nude fabric to create the optical illusion of the skin showing - SEXY!

VERSACE - I have nothing more to say here - Donnatella has always kept it sassy! Inevitable from her!

Alexander Mcqueen - not quite marketable but a nice piece to have on the catwalk. Chanel - AGAIN - using the cage influence - LOVE those earrings! BCBG - always current with the trends.
Love love LOVE these key pieces!
